Which stereo ports do I have? (Subwoofer install)

Hi
I am looking to install a subwoofer in my caddy -23. Haven't built car audio before so it's a learning experience. Was wondering if there is a way of knowing what ports I have in the factory stereo to connect a subwoofer without taking it out and having a look. It'll be one of those slim under-seat types. It doesn't need to win any competitions, just give some oomph.
Thanks.

Welcome to the forum.
You won't have a conventional "Sub-Out" on your factory head unit so you will need to use a speaker level input into whatever amplifier you use.
There are lots of amplifiers with speaker level input available so you should have a choice across many brands.

As I understand it, the sub has a built in amp. So I run speaker cables from a speaker channel out, into the amp in the sub? Does it matter which channel out?
Thanks.

If the amplifier is capable of running a speaker level input, then yes.
Depending on the unit in your caddy, you may have the option to use a rear speaker output (if unused) which will give you some control over the subwoofer as you can fade front to rear to balance the level.

Ok thanks. It's a 2-seater so no rear speakers, should be perfect. Also, will the remote control work when connecting in this way, or does it only work with low-level?

I should think the remote will work with either input to the amplifier, I don't understand the language of the manual to say for sure so you might want to check with the supplier or manufacturer.

Biltema my favorite shop when I lived in Sweden. Looks like it has both both high and low inputs. Your head unit will have a sticker on it showing the outlets. I would get some pins and add them to the quad lock connector if original and run wires from them.
Which head unit is it?

Ok thanks to both of you. Yeah they have a lot of useful stuff. Easy to over-spend in there
I can't find info on the model number of the head unit anywhere, but I can take a picture later. It's the one with touchscreen without buttons.
