They're easy enough to put up and down if you need to move around but I wouldn't bother with the living pod that encloses the ladders if you do need the van as it's a massive faff. I planned my trip around being able to camp somewhere with the set up above and ride to where I wanted to and then walk to a pub in the evening for food.
Thats pretty much what I expected, I'll stick to a seperate tent I think, I tend to go places to see the area rather than stay where i am. Cheers

Stayed over the night before in the TentBox so I didn't have a 3+ hour drive there. We had some views for a while but no jets unfortunately.
we did Antur on the one day then went to Bikepark Wales the next, really awesome weekend. But yeh totally agree on the traveling side. I tend to stick to BPW or Flyup417 as not too far away from me...ish

I know what you mean. I think BPW is further for me mileage wise but easier to get to as its motorway most of the way there. Probably won't do BPW for a while now. It's getting too busy and having to wait for uplifts. I do like Dyfi though. Scare me every time I ride there :D

Went with a 16" steel and 215/65/16 Fallen Wildpeaks. Hopefully get all the suspension and wheels swapped out soon.
Do you need to change the suspension to go down the swamper wheel route or can they just go right on?

No not at all. I just wanted a comfier ride and a little more ground clearance due to the places I'll be taking the van.

So a bit of an update, plus rehosted the photos so the links aren't dead. Had a busy few weeks over Christmas fitting a few bits that needed to be done at the same time. Sourced some Golf R seats, heated seat panel, looms from Tommyzooom and started stripping the interior out.

I removed the quarter light to gain access to one of the Climatic sensor locations and cut a hole in the footwell vent for the other. I also took the opportunity to sound deaden the cab while I was at this stage.

Next up was fitting the traction control button and wiring for that.

Next up was wiring for the under-seat sub and rear carpets.

Once all the wiring was done I could start putting in the ducting for the rear vents, 12v socket looms and getting the armrest and front carpets fitted. Took the opportunity to add some aluminium pedals too.

W8 light and Touran seat bases next which were removed soon after as the lowest the seat would go was too high for me. Then the Golf R seats went in on standard Caddy bases.

Looking good
Coming together very nicely
So did u use the Caddy or Touran bases in the end for the golf R seats ?
So they fit on both bases ?

Remind me, having a brain fart (old age) the W8 light comes from which model ?
Does it come with that yellow harness or what is that ?

Cheers mate. Still got some updates to put on to be "up to date" but will do it soon. I used the Caddy bases in the end as the Touran ones were too high. Tiny bit more work to fit but not bad. Yeah the seat fit straight to the Touran bases but require some manipulation and 2 new holes to fit to the Caddy ones.

I think the W8 light was originally in the Passat. I remember fitting it in a MK4 Golf too. The one I have is AliExpress job though as they're unavailable new genuine. Think the harness was from a seller called Saxoboy on eBay.
