A long overdue post with pictures of how my Caddy Maxi has looked for probably about a year now. In no particular order.
  • Limo tints on the rear and back windows
  • Side strips redone in matt black
  • Mirror caps painted gloss black
  • MTS Technik Coilover / Lowering kit from Darkside Developments
  • Rear shackle support block kit
  • Bolt kit for twin leaf springs (Maxi)
  • Team Dynamics Pro Race LT 18" wheels in gloss black
  • Bridgestone Turanza 225/40 R18 tyres
The only issue I have, well there are two really. The rear is not setup right and I'm struggling to see why. The rear wheel is central in the arch and the hanger was set on the 2nd hole from bottom for a 60mm drop. But with any weight in the rear of the car the back of the rear tyre would foul the inside of the wheel liner? If anyone has any thoughts or ideas on how to resolve this I would really appreciate it.

At the front I can just about fit two fingers between the top of the tyre and the wing, but the rear is easily three fingers and to be honest I just don't like it. I want the rear to be a good 20-30mm lower but obviously not hit anything.

As for the second issue, that will be a post for another time now. But overall I'm really happy with how it's turning out. I've no plans to make any more changes externally I can think of. And internally the only things I really miss are having a reversing camera and folding mirrors.

Thanks.

Looking good
The limo tint is total blackout !!
Is the sliding door sliding window standard on the life ?
Looks very user friendly
The 2/3 finger difference would be negligible once you get something in the back
A lot of hard work going in to your van

Thanks, yes the sliding windows in the rear are standard on the Caddy Life & Caddy Maxi Life Mk4. It is very user friendly and I'm still amazed at just how much room you get with the Maxi.

Wow, five months since I last posted! Not a very exciting post this and only got a few pictures of what I've been up to today but more to come. After I started my sound deadening and insulation on a budget I knew there was room for improvement. I only bought one roll of recycled loft insulation so went and bought another one yesterday and removed all the trim out of the rear again. I then went and filled any remaining gaps I could see / find.

And next was the passenger door as I never did this first time around. The door card is pretty easy to remove, watched a YT video on it but did manage to break a clip and a piece of bracket of the door but nothing super glue couldn't sort out. And clips are cheap as chips of AliExpress or eBay. I then just cut an access hole as can be seen and my 5mm sonic gold laminate floor underlay / come sound deadening material is in and I did manage to get some loft insulation in without fouling the window at all. Overall very happy indeed and just the drivers door to do now.

I did forget to get a picture of it all done before I taped the access hole back up but you get the idea of what I was doing. The difference is very noticeable especially as my Maxi is often driven with neither the 2nd or 3rd row of seats in it. Prior to doing any of this there was way more noise in the back.

Nice colour, don't think I've ever seen that in real life
Is the off set of the wheels ok, in the second pic it does look like the back wheels are almost level with the arch (instead of sat just inside)?
Useful pics of the inside of the door too, I really cba to put the last few bits of sound deadening inside the doors as it looks like a fiddly job!

Thanks, yeah I think the colour is really nice. I've only seen a few myself.
The offset is fine and I think it's just the picture doing that, they don't poke out beyond the arch and they are just on the inside of the arch.
It's taken me an age to get this far but it's not my daily and often just sits for weeks in the garage. I've really quite enjoyed putting the insulation and what not in. I just need to get the rest of the trim back in and do the drivers door now!

The name of the colour surely adds to that :)

Julian, I see that you are using 225/40 R18. What is the rim width? Maybe that has to do with the rubbing issue you experience when vehicle is loaded.
I actually thought that Caddy might take 225/45 R18 7J from Touran when Touran does, but have not seen anyone doing that yet. Then the outer diam of the wheel would be bigger, bigger chance of rubbing and speedo would be off probably, since (for me at least) with stock 205/50 6J R17 it is nearly spot on. However, I wonder what all the people with swampers with huge wheels do about it. Do they not care about speedo accuracy at all?
Never really planned to mod my Caddy until I found this forum
