Touran Bases

Post by stu_b »

I was wondering if anyone knows the part numbers required for the infamous Touran seat bases - front left and right

I have a 2012 Maxi RHD

I am in Australia and these things are like a yetti, heard of but never actually seen !!

Want to better try my luck with search engines but having the right part number would be a good start (plan to get bases so I can open up a myriad of seats to look at upgrading too)

TIA for the assistance

Not sure if both sides are the same because I keep coming up with the same part number and suffix

Yeah both have different parts numbers

1T0881034C is for the right side
1T0881033C is for the left.

Have you just tried searching eBay.au for "Touran breaking" and then message any sellers for the bases? Worth a shot mate.

@ STP The Touran was never released (I believe) in the Australian market, I believe this to be the case because we cannot get part for these
We would have to source them from overseas, like Poland or UK
So with the help with part numbers, kindly offered by @Gary.8 (thanks) I can certainly try to source a front set to suit my van

Ideally in a real world, a set of bases with seats would be amazing but due to shipping restraints to ship the whole seat would be cost prohibitive so the bases by themselves would be my best alternative

Sorry mate, I didn't realise. Surprised they never made it to you, no luck in Thailand or Indonesia either? Or is shipping still too much from there?

They're a bit big for a suitcase. Are you guys so far apart that shipping would be expensive? I always imagined you could hit NZ from Oz with a good catapult lol.

I can imagine the look on the airport girls face when you're trying to check two steel Touran seat bases into the aircraft luggage thing.

We are a good 3hr flight / 2,300km as the crow flies (lots of being flapping !!) from my local airport

I didn't think the bases would be that bulky in dimension or in weight

Anybody know the definitive on that ?

Other option is shipping, sea or air depending on price

Shipping between NZ and Oz is stupid! So bizarre - often cheaper for me to get stuff from the UK than Oz.

I've guessed the size of a pair packaged up and weighing 18kg, 30cm X 50cm X65cm, and that would be NZ$255 for shipping.

They'd probably come in less than that.

I probably have a pair somewhere, you could have... but I'd have to find them... and that is no easy task, based on how full my barn is (I have to fold in the wing mirrors on my Land Rover to squeaze it in there  ). There is still half a Touran in there, being made into a half-car trailer :D
