Vw caddy 2k 08 SDI starting problems

Hi
Big problems starting my van. It will not start then will start after a while of turning over it will go.
Any ideas please.

I have a similar issue on a 1.9tdi . Have to turn the key on and off a few times before the relay kicks in and glow light comes on. Had a load of stuff changed . Relays fuses . Fuse box ingintion control. Still no joy .

Did you figure out what it was on yours .

The 1.9 TDI engines had a known issue where the injection pump would draw in air and empty the fuel line back to the tank, I had to fit a hand bulb to my Audi to prime the pump, I can't remember if I ever got to the source of the air leak but it was likely the o rings in the fuel line connectors. It was a long time ago but no doubt the design is the same.

Low fuel pressure causes the same difficulty in starting so it could be that which is wrong.
