Hi all, i was looking into buying a new head unit and found this one on the TMG website. Does anybody use this one, quite like the design etc of it and want to know if it's worth the extra cost for me to get it shipped to the Netherlands. Thanks!

Would be interesting to see what the specs of this are as I don't see this in the listing at all. So screen resolution, Android version, CPU details, RAM & anything else really.

Personally..... For £300 I'd stay away...
I believe all these generic head units are all just Chinese no name units....
A 30 second search on eBay shows a head unit that looks identical to this for £85
https://ebay.us/m/uwNYj8
In my experience of looking for headunits the named brand ones seems to be 7inches with a trim surround, while the Chinese ones are bigger at 9inches which does fill the space better.
But reviews say the buttons are very cheap and flimsy and they can be quite laggy apparently.
For that price you can get a non dab JVC or Kenwood unit.
Depends on what you want from it. But id say TMG selling them for nearly £300 is a bit cheeky.....

Thanks Gazza, I thought it might be an improved version or something as they say with the digital dash.. might as well spend some extra and get a JVC or ALPINE unit.

Looks very similar to the one I bought from Plus Center, its over priced, under powered and has the worst radio and DAB reception.

I've been having a look at this over the weekend and if you are prepared to put in a bit of time to research I didn't find it too difficult to come up with some alternatives. I took my VW headunit out to get the exact model number and did a bit of research on that and found that its shared with some other vehicles that I was completely unaware of.
Then just a case of looking on AliExpress (my favourite

), Amazon, eBay etc. It's also pretty easy to look up and cross reference specs such as CPU / chipsets used. As already stated some chipsets will be woefully slow and just best avoided regardless of how cheap they are. But things like storage & RAM are pretty self-explanatory.
