Looks great! Some change from the standard van.

The digital dash is super tempting - will be keen to see how you get on with it. I saw some early feedback that dashes had been cutting out randomly, do you know if they've fixed that issue? That'd be the only thing making me go for one from a UK seller, AliExpress returns/support are usually excellent but sometimes easier to deal with someone more local...

Ambient lighting looks nice, any more pics of that install?

The dash has been faultless, no issues at all!
I do wonder if some of those issues are to do with the install, one of my connectors wasn’t in fully and that caused the van not to start. if the other connector that powers the dash isn’t seated properly, I’d imagine that would cause it to cut out.
In all honesty I do wish I bought it through Everest VW as he knows them inside out it seems, and UK based support would be nice! But I only found out about them after buying mine from AliExpress
The seller on Ali did help me fix the connector and mileage issue, and is quite quick to reply

Picked up some Audi A5 S Line seats for £50!!



Just had to drill new holes in the caddy seat bases, wire up the airbag connectors, and feed them 12v for the electric lumbar support which works now as well!

I couldn’t figure out the seat belt and pressure sensor wiring as it was completely different, so I left the seat belt wires unplugged, and joined the pressure sensor wires together, this makes the van think the seat belts are always on, and seats are always occupied, which is perfect for me as I sometimes put stuff on the passenger seat and it no longer beeps at me!

The extremely long throw on the gear stick was really bugging me, bought a cheap short shift linkage and it works a treat!
It’s adjustable and is at the middle setting at the moment, which is reducing the forward/back movement by about 25%

Gear selection is a lot more positive now too, and I can actually sit back to change gear rather than having to lean forward each time due to me being a shortarse

Had 2x attempts at trying to wrap the rear windows in vinyl... did not go well! I'm usually good at wrapping, but I caved and just paid the professionals to do it

Is this black vinyl that blocks rear view or does it still allow some vision. Been think about doing this.
Have bought rear window tint for interior application but want all black look.

Yes it’s just gloss black vinyl, not able to see through it all, keeps any thieves from peeking!

I believe even with the darkest window tint, you can still shine a torch through and see what’s inside

The wrap place I paid used Inozotek brand wrap which is a bit pricey, but I used this stuff on the rear windows of my brothers caddy and had really good results

That’s the same wrap I used for the door handles and stereo/heater control trim, super glossy and easy to work with!

Haha it’s not that bad! I only took it to a shop as the weather was wet and windy making it impossible to do outside!
Just take your time and stretch the wrap out to remove any wrinkles, use a heat gun or hair dryer to remove lines and bad wrinkles.
You can lift the wrap up as many times as you need if you make a mistake, apply a little heat and it will repair any imperfections/lines you have made and have another go!

I think I bought the “triple layer black” from that eBay listing, best of luck!

Well. I got what you suggested. I tried. And failed. Definitely not my forte It looks like a wet bin bag has been stuck on the window. At least no one can see in I guess and I can’t see the state of it while driving so will do for now

Oh dear it definitely takes some patience!
A local car wrap place would probably do it for £50-80

Something I’ve been trying to figure out for a while is an easy way to get my mountain bike in and out, decided to
make a tray that will hold the bike, and slide out to save jumping in the van with a hunched back which is not ideal!

Started by making the base out of ply, fits nice and snug and doesn’t even need fixing down due to the weight and tight fit, so can be removed easily if needed.



Then installed the heavy duty drawer runners and assembled the sliding drawer.



Fits perfect!



Touch of paint for the bare wood that would be vissible.



Then stuck some rubber matting down on the drawer, the matting comes up the sides as well, so it will help keeping the water contained if I put a soaking wet bike in the back.



Bought some cheap bike stands off amazon to hold the bike upright and bolted them to the sliding drawer.



Fits like a glove!



Super happy with this as it means I can slide the drawer out, lift the bike up and slide it back into the van, avoiding the need to climb into the van hunched over and strapping it down! Hoping there is space to the right to fit my smaller trail bike as well, may need to take the front wheel off but that will be the next stage
