Footwell Lighting

Post by jakemcc97 »

Has anyone managed to get footwell lighting working from the BCM on a MK4?

In 09 Central Electrics I have set:
Byte 12, bit 5 to active
Byte 20, bit 1 to active

Every guide I can see for other VAG models (can't see the how to section on this forum) says to use either pin C72 or B50 - can't use C72 as all three plugs are 52 pins, can't use B50 as it already has a white/yellow wire in it (t52b/50 for the RR fog light)

Cheers!

I’m quite interested in this as well so be interesting to see, the other way to do it is wiring it straight up to the interior light so they come on when you open the doors, I know other vag models are on permenantly when the lights are on

Cheers, that was the backup plan but I guess that won't work with the footwell lights menu on the MFA as it'll dim with the dash dimmer dial instead.

So out with the idea of OEM footwell lights as they'll be way too bright with the dash illumination turned all the way up.

I did see some chat on other forums about changing the BCM outputs with VCP but not sure I can be bothered to mess with that...

Hi, are there any other pins for the footwell if pin 50 is used?
