Re: Touran headlights
1. Physical Fitment
On a Caddy (2K):
The Touran 1T headlights are similar shape
They bolt up to the same slam panel area
BUT the wings and bumper line need to match
If you’re just swapping lights and keeping:
Standard Caddy wings
Standard Caddy bumper
You’ll normally need:
Slight trimming
Possibly Touran headlight brackets
Some people say they “fit straight in” — they don’t perfectly. Expect minor adjustment.
2. Wiring Differences (Most Important Bit)
Your 2k will usually have:
H4 or H7 halogen wiring
10-pin headlight connector
Touran lights often use:
Different pin layout
Separate dipped/main beam wiring
Sometimes different sidelights
You’ll likely need:
Adapter looms (best option)
Or to repin your connectors
If you go for:
Xenon Touran lights → you’ll need ballast wiring + coding
Halogen Touran lights → much easier
3. Coding (VCDS Required?)
Sometimes no coding needed if:
You stay halogen to halogen
You may need coding if:
DRLs behave differently
Bulb warning appears
You move to factory xenons
With your spec it’s usually simple halogen coding.
