Washer pump

Post by davoc220 »

Looking to see what single outlet washer pumps people have used when doing away with the rear wash wipe?

I just code the rear out with Obdeleven. No need to change the pump. When you remove the rear wash option it disables the rear pump output so nothing happens if you happen to push the stalk forward and the front still works fine.

That's what most folk do.

Hi guys
If removing the rear wiper, will this cause messages/lights on the dash?
Cheers

No mate it doesn't cause any errors removing the wiper motor. If you don't code it out however, the pump will still run if you push the stick forward and squirt water inside the door.

A few of us used a sink tap blank kit from Screwfix, costs about 1.99 and seals perfectly. Comes in chrome or white and has a sealing washer. Exactly the size of the hole too.

You have to unbolt the rear door handle mechanism to get the wiper motor out, just be careful bolting it back up - I just loosened mine and was able to slide the motor out. Cannot be removed without doing that though.

Coding is pretty easy with vcds or Obdeleven. Just select long coding in body module (central electrics 09) for rear wash wipe "not installed" and bingo it's gone, no more rear wash action and no water will come out, and the front will still work fine.

Ok thanks mate. I’ve seen the blank used but I think going to go with killallwipers and have it painted the same colour as the van

My issue is the pumps pissing washer fluid out when it’s in use, as fail it’s not the pipes that are the issue, it’s the actual pump, was looking to kill 2 birds with 1 stone bud

Ah ok, not sure which pump is available with only one outlet, but there must be one for a vehicle without rear wash wipe
