After a attempted break in im replacing the handle and mechanism behind.
My question is the spring part of the mechanism, Do I have it set correctly? Im not sure if spring should be in this position and then when I put the rest in and tighten the torx screw it will open and pull the handle in and then be spring loaded? As it was all damaged I dont know how it should be.
I have full access as removed window reg etc... the handle is sitting where it should be on the spring mechanism but sticking out at the minute and you cant push it in.
Pull out and unlock screws carefully - that one near to door gasket - but NOT AT ALL
unlock till handle bar will not turn back = position to remove cylinder barrel is ok
take it out
take out handle
then take out mechanism
check that locking mechanism (reverse C) position
once door handle is install proper way, lock side screw should remove protection and spring will pull it back
