@ibas Plus the 2.0tdi is very undertuned as standard, it has plenty more potential, that's why you can almost double the power just with a remap.
Mines been remapped for about 3 years @184bhp and no matter how I drive it Iv rarely seen it drop less than 35mpg average, and that's only when seriously pushing it!
Most iv got is 74mpg on 50 mile run up the M1, driving like your granny's granny mind you.

Re: What did you do to your van today?
Todays job was the cam belt etc
Low and behold
The crank seals leaking so the mechanic said, we may aswell leave it and do them together.
Both side doors were leaking so I bought new seals.
Did one side so far and now that’s worse than the other one.
But at least by changing the seal I found some MORE rust.
4 years old……… they must of stored it in the sea before selling it

Belt service done at 50k miles...switchable water pump replaced with a Gates steel pump. Now the temp sits at 90 no matter how hard I'm driving.

Re: What did you do to your van today?
I managed to get just the fog lights without sidelights front and rear to work as DRL's on my 2008 mk3 Where I live it is mandatory to have either separate DRL's, dipped beams or fog lights turned on during the day so this puts no unnecessary wear on all the other bulbs. I see many newer VW's and Škodas driving around this way. Always thought this is a BCM only feature not available to us plebs with a CECM but glad to be wrong.

Lidded glovebox on a pre-facelift Mk3!
Genuine facelift gloveboxes are a very rare commodity at the breakers, but I managed to get one for just €40. It is missing the light and AUX input, and I need to duplicate the donor car's key for the lock to work. It does not fit out of the box. One needs to either cut off the glovebox's extra protrusion or make an incision in the old dashboard. I chose the latter. There is an additional screw hole in the FL dashboard, but I am not making it as the glovebox is sturdy enough right now.

Managed to run the power for my amp in one run which was far easier than expected. Also made a bit of a bodge small rack for bike bits an basic tools. need to make some vanity panels yet. I'll lob some photos up once it looks semi decent.

Got fed up of looking for decent priced caddy life door panels so I made my own sliding door cubby hole panel

Re: What did you do to your van today?
Went to the local scrapyard this weekend and made some decent finds.
Amongst other things I found a gear knob and a handbrake cover in leather from a Caddy -18.

Re: What did you do to your van today?
First mods to my Mk3. Fitted a new cabin light with reading lights and LED bulbs. And fitted a new heating A/C control panel with heated seat controls I snagged on eBay, in preparation for when I find a reasonably priced and good condition pair of heated front seats. Heated seats is the one mod my wife is 100% behind

Yes, I'm very pleased with it. Big difference to the dull yellow glow from the old one. It's from Travelin-Lite.

I take it changing the interior bulbs to led doesn’t trigger a bulb warning?
