Re: What did you do to your van today?
@ Swan - I am possibly going to be going 9 or even 12 mm, so the fact that yours is recessed makes me think mine most definately will be - a LOT
@ Philsparky - I looked online here to get the parts, it would cost over $200 to get the parts in Australia (would be lucky to find a donor at a breakers) so approx 105 Pound / 120 Euro
As nice and as OEM it looks I think I will have to consider the lanyard option (of sorts) to fashion a handle / release for me
as lovely as Australia is, we are so fkn remote from parts it makes it so expensive

That’s pretty thick ply Stu! How come you’re using that?
I doubt after carpet you will get any trim clips long enough, someone used rivnuts to install theirs I saw recently, maybe that would be a solution.
@mac12. I just googled collapsible shelf hinges and the came up mate

Replaced a rather worn out bottom hinge…

Just need to wait on slightly better weather to repaint the scuffs from the door dropping a little due to the busted roller!
Door is buttery smooth now! Love it!

Re: What did you do to your van today?
@ Swannie I am planning to use the doors to creat a removable shelf so need something that can take the weight (considering the hinges n all)
I am also thinking about having a secret hidey hole or sorts in the panel so I can store a few little odds n sods
I was thinking to use rivnuts to fasten to the actual panel
so yeah, dont think the standard OEM looking handle will work in my situ
its a work and planning in progress

Replaced my tatty 9mm ply floor with a 12mm one. Glued rubber penny matting to it to stop my tools moving around while I'm rack-less

Insured it
. I was expecting to get shafted due to the engine swap, but Brentacre gave me a decent quote and I can make any cosmetic changes without an increase in my premium. They've also put an aftermarket exhaust on the policy, so it would be rude not to.......

Re: What did you do to your van today?

Must admit, the guys I spoke to on the phone knew their stuff, which makes a refreshing change! A very simple process all in all, even sending in the usual documents was nice and hassle free. You must've had to write an absolute novel on their "modified vehicle report form" thoughgazza31112 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 25, 2023 6:18 am @Bahnstormer Iv just gone with brentacre aswel after years of comparison websites, really impressed with them so far!

Re: What did you do to your van today?
Finally think iv got to the bottom of my weird switchback flashing timing, with the addition of a few resistors, so even with the engine on, the flashes are always in time with the headlight Indicators.... So far... Fingers crossed, but it seems to work alot better

@Bahnstormer it was quite a list
but I'm glad I gave them a go, I found a slightly cheaper one on moneysupermarket but as soon as I called them up and added the vinyl wrap they wanted about £700 more?!?! Insurance is madness!
