random caddy engine question.

right then guys hope u lot can shed some light on this maybe silly question?

i've noticed 2 types of engines on some of the caddy's im looking at..
both tdi but look slightly different..

first one looks very simaler to the tdi in my mk4 golf

same rocker cover etc?

then this one i see more often on the tdi vans..


both vans are ment to be 104bhp tdi's, does this seem right to you guys in the know?

My 08 plate has bottom version - not sure what difference is though bud - just trying to shed light on year and version - weird though?

My van has the bottom one and I've seen a 2010 model with a slightly different rocker cover also.

hmmm interesting.. at least the top ones not a sdi..

so seems the top one might just be the earlier type?

the top one looks the same as my 130 and 150 engines so might be worth getting the earlier one if parts might swop over easier?

do any of you guys know the engine codes on yours that relate to the differant types? might be worth knowing for referance in future?
