I was quite impressed with the 1.6 tdi performance before the map but now its really different ,its taken the van feel away all together , sounds mad but best way to describe it , it now pulls hard but very smooth from tickover to the red line and the extra torque now allows over takin with out the need to drop a gear

Looking good buddy, how did you wire in the LED'S into the interior light??Candyturbo wrote:few more mods in the week , fitted new music , very impressed with the rcd510 good to operate and better sound too
next one was a bit of a gamble , ive have ambient leds in a few of my cars so thought about a w8 interior light conversion but did nt think a couple of led s warrented £70 so I made my own , quite pleased with the results and gives a good red glow all over the centre controls and console
cost me £1.99 !! great mod
ibrought the mdi\ipod module kit but don't think im going to bother fitting it , if any one wants it £100 all brand new genuine vw parts

I took the led feed from the switched +ve so the led s dont dim with the dimmer switch , dimming led s shortens there life by quite a bit !
And they look pretty cool in the dark

I don't know where you got your information on dimming causing damage to LEDs, it can actually make them last longer as they only deteriorate with heat, over voltage or over current.
Besides, even the shortest rated life LEDs at 5,000 hours, if you run it for a hour a day, every day, you can expect it to last 13.7 years.
