No photos today but the interior (cab) is pretty much back together and I'm now waiting for the van to be flatted and polished so I can fit the final exterior parts.
I was fitting the caddy cross rear bumper parts but after being involved with Dans Caddy R I think I need something a bit special.
I have decided on this as the exhausts are just trim pieces fixed to the bumper and I like the reflector.

Oh hell yeah! That will look amazing. I am surprised though, after the trouble you had with mine, that you'd even contemplate this!

Are the puddle lights integral in the latest versions or is that a custom mod? Every time I get into my mums mk7 golf I always think the puddle lights in the handles are the next thing I'd like to copy but this works just as well.

I had to order a new pair of flasher lamps for my mirrors and when they arrived they had puddle lights in the bottom.
I couldn't get the bulb holders separately though so I bought a pair of eBay led replacement puddle lights and wired positive to pin 10 on the mirror plug and other wire to earth. A bit of coding and all done ;-)

From RAC to RAD. Here we go again

Post by Matt@Reflex »

Ok, I found some time to carry on with the slowest van build in history.
Due to us relocating into our newer building I have not had much spare time lately.
The Octavia vrs rear bumper has been postponed for now but I did manage to get my caddy cross parts to fit my standard bumper.
Image

I spent the whole of today getting my rear light fitting perfectly and wiring it all in.
At times I ask myself why I make things harder by having these silly ideas but I must admit I did crack a smile when I'd finished .

Nice to see a wee update, love the fuel cap trick! Do you work it manually or is it on some kind of servo?
cheers

The light/fuel fill is a very neat trick. Will be good to see this finished in all it's glory, Matt.

I know what you mean about silly ideas Matt, but you're right, they're so worth it, especially when the results are as amazing as your van.
