Tidy!
What would be needed for a single door conversion job? I take it, just the rear door and the hinges??

Can't remember properly, but I think that you might need to reinforce the roof for the hinges - could be wrong though??carvolution wrote:Tidy!

Re: Mk3 money pit
Here it is updated a little, Over January its going in for full colour change, side strips removed and welded up, maybe a R32 lump and running gear not sure about the 4 wheel drive yet due to cost, time and the amount of fabrication work needed.

No couldn't wait but want to do the colour change properly so we have removed every nut, bolt, grommet etc its taken 20 man hours to get to this stage but did have to remove all my sign writing and we have cleaned every inch of this van with preptone so its clean goes into paint as it makes it easier for them to prep.

Re: Mk3 money pit
yes im hoping the transformation goes to plan have a idea in my head what its going to look like but I cant go mad as I just dont have the funds. Done three back to back 16 hour days to get to this stage as we've been stripping it out of work hours as we have customers vehicles in to complete. but to be honest I have found it really enjoyable stripping the van back and labeling every nut and bolt.Doc wrote:Good lord, I feel a transformation in the pipeline, colour change and more!!!!!

Went over to paint today going to do it in the vw viper green wanted to keep it oem paying allot of money for a factory standard paint job that's why we decided to strip it ourselves so I can clean and put every part back perfectly. What do you think of the color???????????

Re: Mk3 money pit
Oh my, that's gonna be a one off colour.
Bit close to the RS green to stand out as an OEM colour I think.
