2010 front grillie

Post by DADDYorCHIPS »

Does anyone know what from grillie this is?

I’m not sure if it’s an adapted golf Gti or a polo Gti front grillie?

This is on his insta page.

There's a how to on here of a home made GTi grill using a Golf 5 GTi and Touran which looks very similar to his as it has the trim piece around it https://caddy2k.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=77

I think he may have used a MK4 Polo GTi grill though as it has a straight piece along the top that would make it a lot easier blending into the Touran one.

Thanks Dan :)

Not sure I follow what the difference is between the polo and the golf and the flat bit you talked about?

Are the two images at the bottom the two different versions?

The Golf one looks like this

The 2 images at the bottom of my last post were of the Polo GTi.

You can see the Polo one has a straight line all the way across whereas the Golf one is jagged where the hexagonal holes finish at different levels.

I get you now :) so you’d recommend going for a polo one! As it should be easier to modify. Does the touran badge fit the same as the polo? Or would you be better off getting a polo grill with its own badge?

If it was me, I’d get the Polo grill and badge and then use the method that other thread had in it. Can’t say it will be easy though and often the hardest part is keeping it neat and tidy whilst creating enough strength so that it doesn’t crack where it’s been joined. Good luck!
