Thank you! I am indeed, nice to have the remote for dimming if needed, 6 spot lights is a fair bit for a small van haha. And no not touch, turned on by my switch panel and also on remote if on at the switch

Back with more! So next up was lowering and wheels, as both of these were making me itch and twitch because of steelies and how high i was sitting
I decided to go with new Bilstein Shocks all round and Eibach springs, flipping the leaf springs over which lowered me around 45mm (seems like less) of course adjustable on the rear so left it abit high as i was adding weight and can adjust it properly later. But I’m super happy with the kit and the ride is great and better than expected, although i do wonder if i could’ve gone to 60mm, which would look even better, but not sure if it would be practically better.. anyways i’m still happy!!


Then it was the wheels, i did orginally have a set of Audi 5 spokes to refurb and put on but it’s not really what i wanted, nor could i be arsed to refurb! So i bit the bullet and bought some brand new Clubsport 18s reps (19s preferred but i think ride quality is massively reduced and wheels more prone to cracking) and put them on and what a difference in looks and drive.. just gotta watch them kerbs now!

Hi,

what did you use to glue the solar panel? Should it be a waterproof seal around the edges of the panel, or is some kind of drainage needed?

Hi, i used some Stix-All in black. I thought it would be best to keep it completely dry under the solar panel, so i ran a bead all the way round and put abit extra in the recesses as i went around. Even the filled the fixing holes in each corner. (Not every solar panel has those)

No worries and yeah of course, it’s stuck down well obviously but you’d use a blade around the edges and get under and cut and peel if you get me. Or the other way is to use cutting wire inbehind and use abit of see-sawing pulling action and it can come off, just may need a little clean up after, there is probably other ways but that’s how i’d attack mine if i had too.

Important bit now, the bed! Made a start on this a month or so ago… made all the frame and side unit with a little bit of storage underneath and some storage in the side unit! This frame is to fit a small double mattress, i could’ve probs gone abit smaller and gained some unit space but it’s nice to have the sleeping space! Also little dabs of Sika on joints mainly to prevent any squeeks or any noises the wood/fame may make whilst on the move!


Looking a little more beefy!

12mm ply on top and screwed! Then the off cut used to cover the legs of the frame at the back

Bed looks solid!

Which length and width did you go for? Height from floor to top of frame (i.e. height of RHS wheel arch w.r.t. ply floor)?

A bit curious why the bed is pushed forward against the chairs, rather than against the barn doors? Kitchen in the back?
