Looking at buying a Mk4 2.0TDI caddy but only can really find 5spd or auto. Is swapping a 6spd from say a mk4 1.4tsi caddy a simple plug and play swap replacing the 5spd? Or am I better settling with an auto.

Pretty sure you can use Mk5/6 Golf TDI gearbox, driveshafts etc which are obviously cheap and plentiful.
One drawback is you can’t use cruise control in 6th gear if your van comes with it.
