Flashing coil light after steering wheel swap

Guys the volume buttons were broken on my mfsw on my 2019 caddy highlife. I acquired a mk7 golf steering wheel and fitted it. Differences are original steering wheel had a cancel button for the cruise where as this one the button adjusts the distance from car in front. Also this steering wheel had the paddles for the dsg but mines manual. I used the existing loom so I can’t see that the paddles would be connected. Any ideas why the coil light is on
