Forum Officially Dead?
Is the forum officially dead? No posts since the end of May, I guess due to the SQL error. It's taken me about forty or fifty attempts to get in here and post this.

I'm experiencing exactly the same issue.. Fighting against "General Error - SQL ERROR [ mysqli ]"...

The thought that this forum might be done leaves a very bitter taste in my mouth. Maybe someone reading this could take over the forum for the sake of the community and the painstakingly accumulated resources, that are only available here.
It took me a lot of tries to get this message out... Hopefully it was worth the cry for help.

I've not been online for a while because of this very reason, it's just not worth the hassle. I reported this on 1st June 2025 and literally no further on after over a year now so it hardly sounds promising at all.
It just needs an admin to .... admin the site, that's all. And the ironic thing it took me a bunch of attempts to get this far.

It doesn't seem to be quite as bad today. But still takes multiple clicks to get anywhere.
The owner seems content to let the place die. It's such a shame.

I contacted DubUnit to ask if they knew what happened to Doc (forum owner for those who don't know) and they said oh yeah he's fine, just busy. Hmm busy for almost two years. Ok then.

So no new users, because Doc won't give them access to the wider site.
As much as I can appreciate what Doc had done in creating this site in the first place it's everyone that bothered to post on here that has made it a success and a fantastic resource for anyone interested in Caddy's or has a problem they want to research.
Doc is of course entitled to step away from this, after all it's been free to use and must have taken a lot of time to manage. I appreciate how useful it was to me in the first year of owning a Caddy. I guess many of us feel that communicating intentions would have been helpful. I would have saved a lot of time posting a build series, had I known it would be of limited value as the forum was winding down.
