It was a plastic plug from a B&Q cost a couple of quid and I secured it with some big washers the other side and put some smaller washers inside the plug (to stop it being popped out) too them inside and a lot of silicon sealant! fiddly (hardest part was removing the wiper) but not difficult also put a plate (from b&q again) behind it so if it did get removed all you would see is the metal plate.
If I find a old one lying around I'll post pictures up how I did it

It was a eibach kit 50mm all round (only £350!) uses k/w rear parts so if you change the front the back can be adjusted to match
