Looking to upgrade head unit and speakers in my 2011 Caddy Maxi but unsure what is comparable?
What you got or what would you recommend?
What about units with Satnav, would I have to fit antenna?

When it comes to the above I'm useless ;)

(Excuse the dark picture)
Going back a few weeks ago I was in exactly the same position as you.
I recently purchased a JVC KW-V215DBT. 55W X 4 with a built in amp, Bluetooth, DAB, USB and other features. Hasn't got sat Nav built in, but with a cable it will connect to your phone and run the maps app.
Paid £210 which was discounted from £550.
I honestly recommend this, you won't even need to upgrade the speakers in the doors either!

Image eonon. Decent head unit has sat nav built in you just run a cable can be hidden under the dash or out by the window. Built in Bluetooth and usb can link aux change colour of LEDs ect. But slow to boot up and would need a roof mounted aerial as signal isn't the best with screen aerial

Next question then....
Did you require auto leads harness and do have full control from from your steering wheel?

No more like 10 it's not instant like vw units. Sat nav takes little longer to load maps but would expect that anyway. This unit is designed for vw so just plug and play only comes with single fakra connection where as caddy has double but you can get a different connector off of the bay. Don't have a mfsw yet but yes it has a control box to link buttons to do whatever you want. plays DVDs too and has a touch screen can also connect a dab box but costs bout £50

Well. There are some "bugs".
But overall im pleased with it.
But to use it in appmode, you must buy a HDMI and a lightning cable + Apples AV Adapter.
If you only use an lightning cable then CarPlay is only going to work.

Can this model be controlled with the Multi function steering wheel and is it a straight swap?

Yeah they work with the mfsw. You'll need a wiring harness and a fascia plate which will be about another £30 tops
