Hi,

Yeah the engine is pretty much bolt in, no mods required, I am using the R32 wiring loom and front cradle/cross member obviously, but yeah its a straight bolt in :D . The video shows the motor running with just the down pipe connected so the lambda sensors are not doing their job hence it not wanting to idle, also the lower engine mount hasn't been connected either, the one i've got is shot and needs replaced, so just a few small things to tidy up in the engine bay and i'm sure the motor will run sweet.

The back end is a completely different ball game, we've discussed this many many times between us and until we get the rear floor out we won't really know how its going to come together, Its either going to be fairly straight forward with only a few cuts and adjustments or it could mean a whole floor, chassis and wheel arch conversion. We'd prefer to be able to do it ourselves but if its technically beyond us we've got a back up plan to send the shell to a workshop which has all the proper jigs and stuff to get it right first time.

Next updates will probably show the rear floor out and the decision will be made as to which route to take.......

Until then, bye

Hi there loving this, I'm looking into doing a similar conversion using a tfsi engine, I noticed you've got the r32 brakes fitted, did you fit a complete r32 subframe wishbones hubs etc to fit them or does the standard caddy hub setup allow the fitment of these brakes? I take it you were able to source all your parts from one car i.e ecu dash clocks etc. Good luck with your project.

Hi Y'all,

George Ibiza: Yes, the R32 brakes fit straight on to the TDi but you will need to change the wheels.... I've fitted the whole R32 cross member and suspension , its a straight bolt on.... . I have sourced most of the parts we need from several different cars, we've been planning this project for about 18 months, we still need some bits and pieces but there was enough there to make a start on it.

Latest developments, rear floor now removed, rear axle and wheel arches will be removed during this week. We've got an 'expert' fabricator coming over to have a look at what we're left to work with but it doesn't look too difficult to fabricate the 'chassis' to mount the R32 rear axle. Time will tell.......

Heres the pictures....

I've got a whole pile of stuff thats surplus to requirements now, from wiring loom, doors, bumpers etc etc... if you know of anyone who needs something or you need something yourself then ask away..... i need to get rid of this stuff to make some room in the garage......

until next time, Bye....

I see well I havent got a caddy yet but have got a tfsi engine cheap in need of a rebuild and thought a caddy tfsi would be fun!, but its reassuring to see that it does take time to source all the parts you need, I'm finding it hard to find all the parts required most importantly clocks ecu etc. Do you know if all the control units will work together e.g your r32 ecu with say your caddy abs control unit, your conveince control unit steering control unit etc?. Are you using the original caddy throttle pedal? and can alot of your original caddy wiring loom be retained and you just need the actual engine wiring harness? I know i've asked alot of questions!! but any help is very much appreciated thanks and good luck! :D
